ABN - Unearthed Solutions, a Perth-based incubator firm has partnered with organisers of this years’ Mining Indaba to showcase five exciting mining technology startups at the Cape Town event.
The open innovation platform will host a special showcase seminar at Africa’s biggest mining conference, with founding director Justin Strharsky moderating the introduction to the five mining tech firms.
The session is set take place at the conference on Wednesday February 7, where each company will have the opportunity to present their impactful technology solutions to leaders from over 220 mining companies and more than 350 qualified, buy-side investors.
“We are excited to be able to offer both local and international startups the chance to pitch to potential customers and investors at one of the world’s largest mining conferences,” commented Strharsky.
Mining technology startups
From the increasingly prevalent blockchain technology industry comes responsible mineral sourcing startup Minespider, who will offer their answer to the issue of conflict-mining through their secure digital technology.
The company’s founder and CEO Nathan Williams said he will be thrilled to present Minespider’s capabilities to so many important figures in the mining industry. “Mining is the perfect application of this type of traceability, and we expect this will help take Minespider to the next level,” he said.
Western Australia-based startup Cribber will also get a crack at impressing the industry with its critical communication central control point tech, along with tailored machine learning and artificial intelligence solution provider DataProphet.
Furthermore, geoscientific imagery knowledge extraction platform Imago hopes to grab the attention of various leaders in the African mining sector. “Africa is a big market for us,” said Imago’s founder Michael Evans.
“We really appreciate the chance to meet so many potential clients so quickly. The conference has a great reputation for investment and technology. It is the perfect way to show investors how Imago is changing mining.”
Finally, Applied Vehicle Analysis (AVA) will pitch their concept to mining companies and potential investors at the industry gathering.
“At AVA, we bring a whole new angle to how we think about systems in mining, and the value of easy, inexpensive and applicable data,” said AVA’s Founder Jason van der Watt. “Our business model is different, and we have shown that it is working. Many mines and major market segments remain untapped and inefficient, so we are hoping to change that as we deliver our message.”
